Terms and Conditions of Use
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using this website. By using this website, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms, as modified from time to time. If you do not agree with any of them, please refrain from using the website.
This website is owned and operated by Praan Foundation, a charitable organisation that relies on voluntary donations to carry out its work.
1. Use of the Website
- You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the website by, any other person.
- You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its servers or its data, introduce viruses or harmful code, or interfere with its normal operation.
- You must not use the website to post or transmit anything unlawful, defamatory, abusive, misleading or that infringes another person’s rights.
2. Donations
- Voluntary contribution. All donations made through this website are voluntary and are made to support the charitable objectives of the Foundation. A donation does not create any ownership, membership, commercial or contractual rights in the Foundation or its assets.
- Accurate information. You confirm that the information you provide while donating, including your name, contact details and payment details, is true, complete and accurate, and that you are legally entitled to use the payment method you choose.
- Lawful source of funds. You confirm that your donation comes from lawful sources. We reserve the right to decline or return any donation that we reasonably believe is unlawful, fraudulent or otherwise inconsistent with our values or legal obligations, and to report suspicious transactions to the authorities.
- Use of funds. Donations are used for the Foundation’s charitable purposes, such as community development, children’s education and women’s empowerment. Where you designate a specific cause or programme, we will make reasonable efforts to apply your donation to it. If that cause is fully funded, no longer viable or cannot be carried out, we may apply the donation to a similar cause. A reasonable portion of donations may be used for administrative and fundraising costs that keep the Foundation running.
- Receipts and tax benefits. We will issue a receipt for every donation received. Tax exemption, where available, is subject to the Foundation’s registration under applicable law (for example, Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961, [Foundation to confirm applicability and registration details]) and to providing valid details such as your PAN. We are not responsible for how tax authorities treat your donation.
- Payment processing. Payments are processed by independent third-party payment gateways and banks. We do not store your full card or bank details. We are not responsible for failed, delayed or duplicate transactions caused by the gateway, your bank or your internet connection, though we will help you resolve them where we can.
- Refunds and cancellations. Donations are final and non-refundable, except as set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
- Foreign contributions. Donations from outside India may be accepted only in accordance with applicable Indian law, including the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, where it applies to the Foundation. [Foundation to confirm or remove.]
- Recurring donations. If you set up a recurring donation, you authorise us and our payment partner to charge your chosen payment method at the selected interval until you cancel it. You can cancel future payments at any time by writing to us or through the payment provider’s cancellation process.
